The F-16 first entered service with US Air Force in 1979. By 1981 the Air Force started to receive the F-16C with improved cockpit displays and controls, extended night attack capabilities, and structural upgrades. The F-16C is considered one of the finest jet fighters in the world today and has an impressive combat record.
The Falcon first flew in 1976, and was the first aircraft to employ a fly-by-wire control system. The F-16 Falcon is manufactured by Lockheed Martin; and is an all weather, mulit-role aircraft in service with several countries.
This 1:72 scale die-cast F-16 Falcon is part of the Witty Wings' Sky Guardians series. It is approximately 9 inches long with a wingspan of 6 inches. This plane has the special Edwards Test Center paint scheme.
The model has extensive detailing, including features like metal landing gear and external drop tanks. The detailed cockpit includes a pilot figure and features and opening canopy. The model also includes a display stand.
