The AWG-9 control system, along with the Phoenix, Sidewinder and Sparrow missile systems make the F-14 Tomcat the superior air-to-air combat platform. The swept wing design enables the Tomcat to jump from close-in aerial combat to supersonic speed in a matter of seconds.
This 1:72 scale die-cast F-14B Tomcat is part of the Witty Wings' Sky Guardians series. It is approximately 10 inches long with a swept-back wingspan of 6 inches. It features the paint scheme and markings of a 'Colorful Cat' aircraft of the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) at Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon in Nevada. The NSAWC operates carrier air wing training and the famous 'TOPGUN' Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor course.
