The F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, variable sweep wing, two-place fighter designed to attack and destroy enemy aircraft at night and in all weather conditions. The Tomcat is equipped with the AWG-9 weapons control system that enables the fighter to track and lock up 24 separate targets up to 103 miles away. The AWG-9 control system, along with the Phoenix, Sidewinder and Sparrow missile systems make the F-14 Tomcat the superior air-to-air combat platform. The swept wing design enables the Tomcat to jump from close-in aerial combat to supersonic speed in a matter of seconds.
This 1:72 scale die-cast F-14B Tomcat is part of the Witty Wings' Sky Guardians series. It is approximately 10 inches long with a swept-back wingspan of 6 inches. It features the paint scheme and markings of a U.S. Navy VF-11 Red Rippers CAG bird.
This F-14 Tomcat model has extensive detailing, including features like working sweep wings, metal landing gear, workable rudders, and working speed brake. The detailed cockpit includes pilot figures and features an opening canopy. The model also includes a full ordinance package.
