The world became aware of the Messerschmitt Bf. 109 during the Battle of Britain. It is to this day Germany’s best known fighter. Its success lay in its maneuverability and its accurate and stable handling. Throughout WWII, new models were developed. The Bf. 109-G “Gustav” was among the best. The first G-6’s were delivered to fighter units in 1942 and saw extensive service on the eastern Front.
This highly detailed 1:18 scale version of the German Bf. 109G-6 depicts the plane flown by Uffz. Gunther Sahl of JG 54.
This plane is part of 21st Century Toys xTreme Detail collection, and it comes loaded with additional features such as a rotating main propeller and an opening canopy with detailed cockpit interior. This plane is approximately 20 inches long.
