The NASA Space Shuttle is a reusable spacecraft that launches as a rocket and re-enters as a spaceplane. The first operational orbital test flight (STS-1) was flown by the shuttle Columbia in 1981. Shuttles Challenger, Discovery, and Atlantis made their maiden flights in 1983, 1984, and 1985, respectively. Shuttle Endeavour was added to the fleet to replace the shuttle Challenger, and Endeavour made its maiden flight (STS-49) in 1992.
This detailed die-cast 1:300 scale version of the NASA Space Shuttle depicts the 'Endeavour' shuttle, and is part of Model Power's 'Postage Stamp Plane' series. The 1:300 scale diecast metal U.S. Space Shuttle features a detailed surface included simulated heat shield tiles, an authentic paint scheme with grey rocket nozzles, and extended landing gear. It is approximately five inches long with a 3.5 inch wingspan, and includes a black display stand.
