*NEW!*
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a fighter plane descended from the earlier F4F Wildcat, but was a completely new design sharing only a familial resemblance to the Wildcat. Some tagged it as "Wildcat's big brother". The Hellcat proved to be the most successful aircraft in naval history, destroying 5,163 aircraft in service with the US Navy and US Marine Corps, plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II.
This highly detailed 1:72 scale version of the U.S. F6F-5N Hellcat depicts the aircraft flown by Lt. William E. Henry from VF(N)-41 of the USS Independence as it was seen on Sept. 21, 1944. Lt. Henry was one of two aces in VF(N)-41 who achieved 9.5 kills during the war.
This U.S. F6F-5N Hellcat is part of Hobby Master's Air Power Series. The 1:72 scale die cast metal vehicle is approximately 6 inches long with a 7 inch wingspan, and includes detailed features such as a moving propeller and wheels. The aircraft also comes with a display stand.
