The 101st Airborne Division is a U.S. Army light infantry division trained for airborne assault operations. Known as the 'Screaming Eagles', the division is one of the most highly decorated units in the U.S. Army and has participated in key battles such as the D-Day landings, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, and the fight for 'Hamburger Hill' during the Vietnam War. More recently, the division has served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
