The morning of June 6th, 1944 saw the start the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare. The Allies, lead by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, attacked the infamous “Atlantic Wall”. The Germans constructed a series of defensive fortification along the coast of Normandy in northwestern France in hopes of “throwing the Allies back into the sea”. This sculpture depicts an American Infantryman running ashore during the invasion’s first wave. He is armed with a Thompson 45 ACP and Colt 45 pistol. The sculpture is 8 inches high and is one of the first sculptures in this series. It comes on a 6 inch oval simulated wood base for easy display. Each includes a certificate of authenticity.
