Initially designed as a scout car, the German Schwimmwagen was issued to divisions of the Waffen-SS, Wehrmacht Pioneer battalions, parachute divisions, and other elite units. The Schwimmwagen proved popular with all the German troops based upon the extraordinary off-road capabilities. All-wheel drive, great versatility and amphibious capabilities made it the small vehicle of choice for both soldiers and commanders.
This 1:32 scale version of the Schwimmwagen depicts the vehicle as seen at Normandy in 1944.
The 1:32 scale die cast metal vehicle is approximately 5 inches long and has front wheels that turn. It comes complete with two different tops (one with the top 'up' and one with the top 'down'), so you can choose which top to use when displaying the vehicle. It also comes complete with a battlefield driver figure and accessories such as external gas cans and battle ready gear!
