The German battleship Bismarck was launched in February of 1939 and commissioned in August of 1940, the largest warship then commissioned. The Bismarck was equipped with eight 15 inch main guns in four turrets, had a top speed of approximately 30 knots, and was well-armored with large fuel stores. The Bismarck had a crew of approximately 2100 men.
The Bismarck and the Prinz Eugen sunk the British battlecruiser HMS Hood during the Battle of the Denmark Strait, leading to the famous chase of the Bismarck by the British fleet (as depicted in the movie 'Sink the Bismarck').
This highly detailed 1:1000 scale die cast metal version of the Bismarck is part of the Battle Extreme series, and approximately 9 inches long.
