German Tiger I (1:16 Scale) - 2007 Limited Edition

German Tiger I (1:16 Scale) - 2007 Limited Edition In pursuit of greater firepower, the German Army created a series of heavy battle tanks. One of the most formidable was the Tiger Tank. With 100MM thick armor plating and an awesome 88MM gun, the Tiger was vastly superior to the Allied tanks it faced.

This special 1:16 scale 2007 Limited Edition version of the Tiger I recreates the Tiger I tank Number 007 that was commanded by Michael Wittmann in his final battle. On June 13, 1944 Wittmann's tank single-handedly engaged an Allied column at Villers-Bocage. In what was one of the most astonishing feats of arms during World War II, Wittmann's Tiger I destroyed a staggering twenty-seven enemy vehicles in one sortie, including a dozen tanks! A month after that battle, Wittmann was given a new Tiger I tank - Number 007. On August 8th, 1944, a new battle was begun near Cintheaux. This was Wittmann's final battle. At 12:55AM in a field near the road to Caen-Cintheaux, Wittmann's Tiger 007 was destroyed and its entire crew was killed. After the fighting ended, the remains of Wittmann and his crew were buried beside what was left of their Tiger, without any grave markings.

The Forces of Valor 2007 Limited Edition Extreme Metal Tiger I possesses an incredible array of detailing on the tank. Beginning with the real metal tracks and continuing with working tank suspension, exquisite sculpting, casting and painting detail, and including many removable elements and tools. The engine compartment is accessible and the detailed engine will be removable and can be displayed separately.

This 1:16 scale Tiger 1 tank is approximately 16 inches long (22 inches including the gun barrel) and 9 inches wide. It includes a scale figure of Michael Wittmann plus four additional crew member figures. The tank also comes with a number of accessories plus a Collector Card, Certificate of Production, and a brochure about Wittmann's Final Battle and the Tiger I tank.

This 2007 Limited Edition Extreme Metal 1:16 Scale Tiger I is sure to become a sought after collector's item.
