In late 1944, an order was issued to step up the use of snipers among the German armed forces. To answer this call, soldiers from both the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS signed up and received sniper training.
These snipers were typically issued a converted Kar 98K rifle with a 4 power Kahles telescopic sight. They were also issed M44 tousers with the newly designed SS-Leibermuster pattern (which had a smaller signature when viewed through infrared night optics) and a camouflage facemask to help blend in with the environment.
This incredibly detailed 1:6 scale German WWII sniper figure from DiD is approximately 12 inches tall. The figure comes with a set of extremely detailed accessories, including a highly detailed Kar 98K sniper rifle with a 4 power Kahles telescopic sight and burlap camouflage, plus ten clips of ammunition for that rifle!
This SS-Sturmann 'Helmut Thorvald' figure comes with a realistic display stand modeled after a section of trench, complete with a sandbag and wood log. Other detailed accessories included with this figure include binoculars with field made cover, four M39 Egg grenades, a camouflage face mask, steel helmet with wire net cover and field finish camouflage, M43 field blouse, M44 trousers, M44 HBT reversible jacket, and leather Waffen-SS duty belt with metal buckle.
