The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) was established in 1987 as a unified combatant command to oversee the various special operation commands of the U.S. military. One of these units is the 75th Ranger Regiment.
U.S. Army Rangers are able to be deployed quickly and in all types of terrains and weather conditions, infiltrating and assaulting by land, sea, and air. The hallmark of the Rangers is surprise. Rangers served with distinction throughout all theatres of conflict in World War II. The most famous of the modern Ranger units known as “ Merrill’s Marauders” earned it’s reputation in Burma in the Pacific Theatre and today’s units continue their proud tradition.
