Lieutenant Otto Schulz is the most famous “ace” of the German Luffwaffe in North Africa. He is credited with downing over 50 Allied pilots. For his aerial feats, Schulz was awarded the RitterKreuz (Highest German air medal) in 1942. Schulz was shot down and killed over North Africa by Canadian ace F/Lt. Walter Conrad in June of 1942.
