For over 20 years the Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) has stood as 'America's Force in readiness'. These small but powerful units consist of elements with land and air combat capabilities. Originally formed as the 36th Marine Amphibious Unit and later re-designated as the 26th MEU, this unit is now based at Camp Lejeune, NC.
