U.S. SB2C-3 Helldiver - USS Intrepid

The U.S. SB2C Helldiver was the successor to the SBD Dauntless, and featured an internal bomb bay that reduced drag when carrying heavy ordnance. The Helldiver was also much faster than the Dauntless. Although initial versions of the aircraft suffered from a variety of teething problems, after a variety of technical modifications the Helldiver became one of the most effective dive-bombers of World War II.

This highly detailed 1:72 scale version of the U.S. SB2C-3 Helldiver depicts an aircraft from VB-18 of the USS Intrepid as is it was seen on October 24, 1944 when U.S. aircraft sunk the Japanese battleship Musashi and a cruiser.

This U.S. SB2C-3 Helldiver is part of Hobby Master's Air Power Series. The 1:72 scale die cast metal aircraft is approximately 6 inches long with an 8 inch wingspan, and includes detailed features such as a moving propeller and wheels. The aircraft also comes with a display stand.
